This summer we were lucky to partner with Penguin Books  to produce an amazing series for young readers. Six terrific authors and illustrators visited the Everett Library at Brooklyn Children’s Museum to read from their books, discuss their careers as authors and illustrators, and sometimes draw!

Here are some photos from each event:Oliver Jeffers

The Penguin Young Readers Series launched on June 16th with Oliver Jeffers. His recent books include This Moose Belongs to Me and The Day the Crayons Quit.
Adam Rubin

Later that day Adam Rubin read from his books Dragons Love Tacos and the Secret Pizza Party.

Edward Hemingway

On July 14, Edward Hemingway (the youngest grandson of Ernest Hemingway), gave a fantastic presentation on his book Bad Apple.

Geoff Rodkey

Geoff Rodkey gave a wonderful presentation about his first two Chronicles of Egg books, Deadweather and Sunrise and New Lands on August 2nd.

Melissa Guion

Melissa Guion surprised us later that day by dressing up as a penguin to read from her first picture book, Baby Penguins Everywhere!

David Ezra Stein

Our final author/illustrator, David Ezra Stein, gave us a great treat by reading from his book Ol’ Mama Squirrel on August 3. His son Sammy made sure to give him some support through the reading!

Be sure to check out future author events in the Everett Library on our Coming Up page!
